Adam started racing when he was 15 years old, racing the Bomber Division at Raceway Park in Shakopee, MN. He raced a half season that year, and sat out the next three seasons due to school and finances. He started up again in 2003 in the Bomber Division again and collected three Heat race wins and one Feature win that year. The following season Adam truly started to shine as a driver, collecting seven Heat wins and three Feature victories. After winning the Dodge Challenge Series Points Championship in 2004, it was time to move up for 2005.
At the end of the 2004 season, Adam's friend T.R. Connelly set up a practice session with Paul Neisius and his Mid Am Sportsman cars. Everything went tremendously well, and in 2005, the Bendzick Racing team made the jump to Elko Speedway and the Sportsman Division.
Adam started off really hot his first season in the Sportsman Division, accumulating multiple top five features finishes and heat race victories. At mid season, he sat in the number three spot in season points. Everything looked like it was leading to Adam running away with Rookie Of The Year honors until the week after mid season when a wrecked car just would not handle the same. During a caution lap in a race, Mike "The Asphalt Assassin" Felixberger ran over the front of Adam's car, bending the frame and causing an ill-handling machine for the rest of the season. All in all, a great rookie season with many heat wins and alot of top five finishes in the features.
In 2006, T.R. Connelly joined the Bendzick Racing team, and everything started firing on all eight cylinders to start the season. The car was fixed from the previous season, and again we collected many heat race wins and many top five feature finishes. 2007 was also another great season, highlighted by the unveiling of our new Pacesetter Chassis, a state of the art racing chassis that we built and designed from the ground up..
Adam Bendzick
2008 Elko Speedway Mid American Sportsman Driver of The Year
2008 was a career year for Adam and the Bendzick Racing team. Out of 16 total races, Adam finished in the top five in the features 14 times. Among many podium finishes, Adam accumulated two feature victories. That year Adam was named the 2008 Elko Speedway Driver of The Year in the Sportsman Division. As Adam always says, "It should be a team award, because without the help of everyone involved, that would not have been possible. Everybody worked very hard that year, and everybody should take pride in that achievement." That year Adam also narrowly lost the points championship, finishing second overall in what was the closest points battle in recent years at Elko Speedway.
Off the racetrack Adam enjoys spending time with his wife Stacey, hanging out with family and friends, and playing with his two boxer dogs Bentley and Kaija. He also owns and operates Pro Service Automotive Repair with his wife Stacey Bendzick. Adam has always enjoyed racing anything. His mom, Donna Yeager, would always take Adam and Chris to any go-kart track along the way to anywhere they were going. Racing has always been in the family blood, with his Dad and uncles all racing different types of cars.
A Note From Adam: "I would like to thank all of my family, friends, and fans for your support over my racing career. I would like to thank my wife for her support in the last few years, my Mom for always making it to every race that she can, Chris and T.R. for all of their help, and the tremendous help and support from everyone that comes to the races. Without everyone being there for me, Adam Bendzick is just another guy driving a car at the back of the pack. I am truly grateful to all of you for helping me be a winner. Without you and our sponsors, none of this would be possible. Thank you from the bottom of my heart."
